 LEPC Meeting – January 23, 2025

The meeting was called to order at 12:30 PM in the conference room of Scioto County Job & Family Services by Information & Emergency Response Coordinator Larry Mullins. A quorum was established.

I.                    Please review the minutes from the previous October 24, 2024, meeting for corrections, deletions, and any questions.  

·         Motion: Approve minutes from October 24, 2024,  meeting - made by Chip Maillet

·         Motion: Seconded by Chris Kemper

·         Vote: Unanimous approval

·         Resolved: Minutes from 24 October meeting approved without modification.

IV.              Items of Business:

a.  LEPC 2025 Grant Resolution: In preparation for the 2025 LEPC Grant application the LEPC needs to pass a resolution authorizing me to execute, file and provide any additional information to the SERC on behalf of the LEPC. A copy of the proposed resolution was sent to all the committee members for review. Are there any questions concerning the resolution? If not, we need a motion to approve the resolution.     

·         Motion: Approve resolution authorizing execution made by Chip Maillet

·         Motion: Seconded by Paul Sheets

·         Vote:  AYEs = 28, NAYs = 0, ABSTAINs = 0.

·         Vote Results: Approval of resolution

·         Resolved: Resolution was approved without modification.

b.      2025 LEPC Exercise: The 2025 LEPC annual exercise will be a Tabletop exercise.

The members of the Exercise Planning Committee are George Moore, chairperson, James Parsley, Jim Delabar, Bill Lynn, and Larry Mullins. There have been two planning meetings held so far, December 18, 2024, and January 15, 2025. The exercise date has been set for Saturday, April 26, 2025, with Washington, Nile, and South Shore, KY fire departments involved. The  objectives for the exercise include Incident Command, Incident Assessment, Traffic and Access Control, Notification of Response and Supply Agencies, and Response Personnel Safety.  

V.                Agency Updates: The meeting concluded with a roundtable of various agencies updating the group on the latest activities at their agencies.
